2016 Statistics: Three mutual aid calls to Searsport for 2 days of fighting a wild fire and one car accident. Two mutual aid calls to the Town of Prospect for a chimney and wild fire. In Stockton there was one chimney fire turned structure fire and one structure fire that took the house and garage in the middle of the night.
Our Fire Deparmtent does a great job providing fire protection service to our community and mutual aid to surrounding communities. The department's volunteers do a wonderful job staying abreast of state and federal training requirements. If interested in becoming a volunteer fire fighter, contact the Town Office 567-3404.
Burning permits are available online at www.maine.gov/burnpermit/ for a fee of $7.00. Permits are available free of charge at the Town Office during normal business hours (tel. 567-3404) or by contacting Vern Thompson at 944-2060, Tom Moore at 567-4330, Dwayne Smith at 567-3106, or Ed Perry at 567-3821.
