Shellfish Licenses & Information
The Town, in conjunction with the Shellfish Committee, regulate some areas in Town (others are controlled by the State of Maine) open to shellfish/clam harvesting with proper licensing for residents and nonresidents, in accordance with Town Ordinance. Commercial licenses are unavailable at this time.

Annual Shellfish Applications/Licenses
- Available beginning June 2, 2025 at 9 AM and expire May 31, 2026.
- Applications are processed by the Town Clerk on a first come first served basis.
- Resident Recreational Fee: $10.00
- Non-resident Recreational Fee: $20.00
- Fees are waived for applicants twelve (12) years old or younger.
72 Hour Licenses
- Available to any person
- Entitles the holder to dig and take not more than one peck of shellfish in any one day for his or her personal use.
- Fee: $15.00
- Fees are waived for applicants twelve (12) years old or younger.
